You would have to update database as well because information if email is shown or not is stored in item table.

I understood very well, just do not understand why you mix different topic. Canonical urls are generatex by osclass and may not be shown on every page.

You say update the database. It was updated when installing Osclass 3.9.0

Theme does not generate canonical urls, osclass does.
