It is possible to change the cover images and make them little bit wider on search page mobile view.
Below are screenshots:

I have tried to make them wider in mobile by increasing the width to 160% ( .simple-prod .img-wrap > a img ) , it works but the problem is the the css is connected to other images too and changes them too.

Well thanks for the suggestion, but im too lazy to learn it 
I will defenitely check and hopefully find a solution there

It can save your hours and hours. CSS is simple.
