"The plugin I would buy" - Advance moderating options
« on: April 19, 2022, 09:47:40 PM »
Hello all.

I would like to share idea for new plugin which I hope it would be interesting for more people than just me, so MB Themes team may be interested into develop it :)

I think that Osclass really need some moderator plugin with which admin could quickly edit, deactivate or delete users listing with giving feedback to the listing owner. Something similar Facebook groups have already.

Why would you need plugin like this? It is common that users post listings with wrong information, in wrong category or violates any other rules... If admin just delete listing users may be confused and angry or even worse, they would not noticed that you edit or delete their listing and repeat the error next time when they will post listing.

How I solve this now? I edit or deactivate listing, open email and send mail to user what did he do wrong and what was my actions. This takes a lot of time and it should be easier :)

What should the plugin do?

Give admin option to:
- edit listing
- deactivate listing
- delete listing

Those actions should be accessible from both front and backend. Admin should have option to select why did he take action from predefined set of rules - it would be great if admin could set them in backend.

Something like:
- Listing was published in wrong category
- Listing content included disturbing information
- Listing data was not correct
- Other

Each field should also have option to add some comment. For example "Listing was published in wrong category + comment: Smart phones should not be posted in computers".

After admin edit/deactivate/delete listing and select reason, user should get email feedback with informations what was changed and why. Plugin should log changes of item category, title, description, price and custom fields.

It would also be great if admin could see moderating history of user (how many times users ads were edited, deactivated or deleted, ...)

For example:

Hello username!

We  would like to notify you, that admin edited your listing.

What have we change?

Title of listing from "Brown mountain bicycle" to "Specialized Demo 2018".

Why have we do this action?

Listing data was not correct. Listing title have to include exact brand and model of the article.

Please use the correcting also in future.

Best regards, ...

What do others thing, would this be interesting for more people than just me?

Best regards, Luka

@Luka93
Thanks, nice idea, bit complex to do it properly but nice.
We've added set of hooks to admin backoffice (8.0.2) in order to enable such kind of features in oc-admin ;)
To get fast support, we need following details: Detail description, URL to reproduce problem, Screenshots

Thanks for the reply.

"Lite" but still very helpful version would also be if plugin would allow sending optional note to the user email when editing, deactivating or deleting item (without other more advance functions like moderation history or sending user what have we change to their ad).

So admin moderate user listing he can add custom text like "Listing images were deleted due bad quality, please provide better ones." which would be send to user:

Quote
Hello user!

We would like to inform you, that admin edited you listing.

Admin note to you is:
Code: [Select]
Listing images were deleted due bad quality, please provide better ones.
Best regards, classifieds team.
