We are talking about 1 user from milion that would need that, for me it does not make sense to create such feature as plugin or in core, you should do it as custom integration.

OpenCart may also have thought that why it should be done for one in a million, and WordPress, but they did, because this is a really useful function)))

OpenCart is eCommerce script, managed by admin, so admin is owner of sold items, that make sense... wordpress itself does not have prices.
