I have already posted about this but as it is increasingly more visible to me i'll post an update.
Osclass is not only a great ads software but is also a great database, and that leaves room for growing and new features.
Osclass is becoming a ads database and i've been receiving requests for creating views on top of the global ads database.

For example:

i have a lot of realestate, cars and motorcycles, house applicances and furnitures, garden accessories.
Some of these categories represent a interest to specifique groups of people, some groups of people are interested in a group of ads belonging to a certain group of categories.

It would be great if we could create filters for these group of people and it would behave like a new and diferent site.

Example:
View ads from some selected categories, p.ex: cars, motorcycles, motor homes, view tem as a separate site, if possible even with a separate theme
Another aproach: if we could install a new instance of osclass that could be configured to use the main osclass instance database but filter and present items only from the selected categories.

Hope it is explained properly and that it may give you new ideas :-)

How it differs from category based subdomains?

Category based subdomains allow only a per category site, only category only.

My suggestion is to be able to select a set of categories, under one subdomain or under a new domain.

Consider the following example: Osclass site with the domain https://www.adsite.com. This would be a regular Osclass site with all the categories and corresponding ads in it.

Now imagine a realestate "category", built by selecting ads from the following set of categories, houses, apartments, farms, villa.

It would build a site https://realestate.adsite.com with all the categories and all the ads in the categories selected for realestate.

It would also allow a different presentation/theme, adapted to a realestate site look and feel.

Ok, it's nice idea, but currently I see it as not too much important and quite complex, as it require 1 extra subdomain type.

Thanks, it's just a sugestion as i'll need something similar.
My alternative is to setup two diferente osclass sites, two diferente instalations, and sync users database plug-in.
Regarding the ads it'll require the clients to post an add on the generic site and another on the specializes site (p.ex. realestate).
