Email subscribe

Hey friends!
how can i make the email alert to be sent instant or after several minute  to the user , when a user subscribe to a search !
i subscribe to a search and nothing comes to my emal!
Please help me to fix this, because its important

i have tested it but still nothing! i have subscribed to a search criteria and then i have posted a listing with the same criteries and still nothing

Make sure your mail server is configured properly and cron is working ,do not quite remember if notifications are send immediatelly or via cron.
