if we change place of this button then we can open dropdown
but then we have 2 fields
one from plugin under image section
and one we add somewhere

This plugin is really old

You will not be able to do it automatically.
First what you need is to remove plugin function from item_form hook and then place this function manually into item-post.php on position you prefer.
