There is very solid free plan for every user, you might went trough this limit significantly, you should check the invoice, talk to mapbox and identify what is being invoiced, instead of guessing.

The problem is as follows.
If the site is large, more than 100,000 ads, then you do not need to include obtaining coordinates from a crontab job

Basically you need cron just for existing listings, it is not required for new listings.
