Everyone,
I have recently been noticing that some members of the community, especially newcomers, are being too aggressive and demanding with their support requests regardless of whether these requests are in or out of scope.
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with requesting support for something that was bought or was freely made available, the way or manner in which one makes or raises such requests must adhere to a minimal etiquette standard. Quite honestly, it leaves a lot to desire.
I salute @MB & Co for not losing his/their marbles with some of the members on here, and more importantly, I don't want them to lose interest in the upkeeping and further development and enhancement of Osclass because of a few in the community that feel way too entitled, demand things go their way or be spoon fed all the time.
So it is important to remind everyone that:
- @MB & Co only make a living out of the paid plugins they offer and custom development work they do. They do not make a cent out of the countless development hours, effort and time they put into developing and enhancing Osclass.
- The time it takes @MB to respond to unreasonable demands or requests, especially after having already responded, is time that could have been spent on fixing bugs or enhancing something elsewhere.
- Users who have no experience in coding or working with code should either put in the effort to learn or request custom development work from @MB to further customize their installations. Don't expect to be spoon-fed or provided with paid or out of scope work for free.
- Anything that is freely provided to the community should be considered "As Is" and the community should not feel entitled to receive or make demands for fixes or customizations and expect to get them immediately and/or for free.
- @MB has provided live demos of the premium plugins on offer to the community so test well and understand what is being offered. The community should not feel entitled to or expect out of scope features to be freely provided.
- Premium plugins and themes are provided with support for existing features only. The community is encouraged to share fixes and recommend new features and enhancements to be added in future releases.
- Community members are encouraged to help each other whenever they can but should not expect or feel entitled to receive help.
- Running a classifieds platform takes time, effort and more importantly, a strong will to continuously learn and improve one's skills.
- English isn't everyone's cup of tea or first language, and that's absolutely fine. Please try to be as concise and clear in describing whatever the issue is. Use DeepL (recommended) or Google translator to translate to English.
- Please follow the forum guidelines and rules to make it easier for @MB and the rest of the community to comprehend and/or assist.
Engage, collaborate, learn, share, be reasonable and manage your own expectations.
