12 months on updates then asks for renewal
« on: February 07, 2024, 09:21:02 PM »
Hello,

Today I discovered that all my plugins less, the ones developed in the last months, are not available to receive updates.

Your software is asking for renewal to get updates again for another 12 months.

That means that I should pay again a tax for 70-80+ plugins...

Why?

THE ISSUE is that I can't even download the plugins anymore even if I paid them... without the renewal done.

@MB_Theme so it is not 100% free?
We need to re purchase those plugins and themes every year?

How about I want to develop my own plugin?

When you buy product, you purchase:
- License - non expiring, entitlement to use product
- Subscription - 12 months, entitlement to download product and updates
- Support - 12 months, entitlement to receive support via OsclassPoint.com channels

After 12 months, subscription and support expire. License does not expire. If you want to update/download product, you can extend subscription & support anytime for 35% of base price, for any product you like.

What happens if I choose not to update for the next 5 years, for example? Is there a chance that the existing updates will no longer be compatible with those that will be in 5 years?

Seen people that didn't manage to upgrade their osclass versions, which of course is free, and I keep up to date, but honestly makes no sense to do the updates every week, there is minor updates for some of the plugins.

Let's say, for example Osclass Pay Plugin which is version 1 now for example, which in 2025 will be version 5, will I be able to update it without losing it's configuration and so on? Does it track its history? At least to avoid renewing all of them.

My main concern is that I already bough every single plugin, and I am not able to download it anymore because it is not renewed.

Thanks,

Updates are always compatible to run on older versions, as they happen in timeline.
You should be able to easily udpate any plugin from v 1.x to v 99.x without problem.

Same as with Osclass, in theory you are able to update v3.0 to v8.1 (manually).

New update may require higher Osclass version, but that happens just rarely (if there is functionality that require something newer, then it is just inactive on older osclass version).
