Display in browser
« on: January 13, 2024, 03:56:07 PM »
Hello all, sorry if this topic has been previously posted - if so please direct me to a previous thread in which it's been covered as I'm sure I can't be the only one affected by it.

I'm developing an OsClass site anglo-ads.net which is fully functional but not yet publicized to attract users. The reason is that for every theme I've tried including my chosen one which is active, the site displays perfectly in Edge and Firefox but not in every other browser I've tried - Chrome, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi.

The 'problem' browsers do not appear to be reading the stylesheet so all I get is a list of headings down the left hand side.

Is this an OsClass problem or something to do with my hosting and if the latter what do I need to get my hosting provider to do to make things work?

I'm running 8.2.1 with four plugins - cookie consent, google maps, list seller items and pre-size images.

Thanks

If stylesheet is not loaded, ooen browser console and check reason.
Based on domain name, it would be blocked by adblocker as well.
To get fast support, we need following details: Detail description, URL to reproduce problem, Screenshots

The web site is anglo-ads.net

Each country has its own OsClass install which display and work correctly in Edge and Firefox.

They don't work however in Chrome, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi (I can't check anything Apple) and I can't undestand why  :(

Dont repeat what you said and follow instructions. If you cannot do it, you cannot fix it as well and in that case better to pay developer

You have SSL issue, fix that and it will work fine.

SSL issue:
https://anglo-ads.net/france/index.php

Remove SSL:
http://anglo-ads.net/france/index.php

I did have same issue, with cloudflare did change to lets encrypt and worked fine direct.

Hey Mr Grump, considering this is a support forum that wasn't a very helpful reply. And it was wrong anyway (see my reply to Rick)

Thanks Rick, that got me looking in the right direction. My host provides a free SSL certificate and I found that I'd set my web path as being http:// rather than https:// in the OsClass config files. As soon as I made the change to https:// everything displayed and worked correctly in Chrome so my guess is that all of the other browsers will now also be OK*.

If I understand correctly, Firefox and Edge evidently don't differentiate between http and https.

* Yup, all now checked and working fine. It's nearly always the little things that catch you out...

Thanks again
