Email Problem

So i am testing email templates, it says "email successfully sent" but they're not turning up in any in-boxes?
Any one know whats going on?

Double check your mail server.
They might come to spam folder as well.

Nothing in spam folders, it's bizarre. Where are the emails going? lol
Would i have to set something up at the gmail end?

Gmail must be explicitely allowed to be used as application mail.
You can enable mail debug log and see all details from mail server
