Help with Osclass Version
« on: August 04, 2021, 05:11:11 AM »
Hello to the community!
I was hoping that someone could enlighten me about the Osclass project.
I am researching and deciding if this product suits my needs.
My understanding is this product is open source and used to be maintained by osclass.org.
Who took over the project?
Which fork is the most supported by developers and users?
Does plugins and themes work interchangeably between the different forks?
Why so many forks?
I’m confused…please help ???

@Shrek
1) Osclass.org left, so they do nothing anymore
2) Project took several groups of people -> thus several branches
3) There is standard Osclass (https://osclass-classifieds.com/) powered by our team, then osclass evo that looks more-less dead and version from navjot on github.
4) None and all. Fork will survive just in case it brings new business and opportunities to their developers. Based on download stats, Osclass Classifieds is downloaded every month by ~ 1000 people that is same as osclass.org used to be, Evo manipulates their download stats (already has over 1.8 milion lol) but what I noticed is they have up to 100 downloads per month and for version from github it is not possible to identify, I would expect tens of downloads.
5) Our osclass supports all the plugins and themes, evo (what I heard) cares just about their products and navjot version - I have no idea. It was stuck in beta for year and half or so and does not seems to have active developer behind, so not worth of testing from our side.
6) Because it is open source and anyone can create own fork.
