OS8 Watermark
« on: November 28, 2022, 04:25:04 PM »
Hello, for the life of me I can't get watermark to work whether text or png image.

Is it me or is there a bug in the system?

I'm using the default sigma theme.

@RogSM
Make sure to clean browser cache as after putting water mark on it, it will still use same name.
  To get fast support, we need following details: Detail description, URL to reproduce problem, Screenshots

Yeah, I always do that whenever I experiment with different size images etc. I've tried everything I can think of but I just can't get watermark to work either as text or image. I'm using sigma in v8.0.2. So far everything else is OK and I'm close to going live so it's a pity as I'd have liked to have a watermark.

OK, problem solved.

Watermark ONLY works on new images.

You CANNOT add a watermark to an existing image by editing the properties regenerating the images and/or editing the ad.

The solution to that would be to download the ad images to date, watermark them using a watermark app and reupload them.

CORRECTION - It seems that you can modify the watermark if the ad image has already been watermarked (OK, go figure) by eg changing the watermark image properties and regenerating the images. In my case I kept it bottom rh corner but added padding in the png on its bottom and rh side, effectively moving the wording.

@RogSM
you can do that until you have also original images (keep original image).
Otherwise result may be weird.

No need because I have specified images of 800x600 and have installed the plugin to reduce image dimensions to max 800 on client side before upload. It then adds white space if someone has eg taken a shot with their phone in portrait mode. Works a treat as images are all then of same dimensions.
