adding predefined text to the custom field

I have created a custom field amenities and i want to add predefined text to it just i have added in title. But there is no field for amenities in item-post.php where i can edit the code. So how can i show predefined text on custom field.

Easiest way for that is to use jQuery to enter default value into input, if it is empty.
