Question about cron jobs

What exactly the cronjobs doing? I am asking coz it keeps killing my site (resources problems) and i have to move to VPS if i need to keep those cron jobs

Never heard that.
Are you on free hosting?
Cron just run functions those you want to run periodically, ie as each hour or once per day

I m on one of the biggest packages on godaddy. Maybe i have some mistakes on cron settings?

maybe i should change to the second screenshot? (single cron?)

You can remove one that execute every 5 minutes, but basically it should not matter too much as if there is nothing to process, it does nothing.
I never heard anything good about fodaddy tbh  :D
