Hello.

I noticed that when I installed a new version 4.4 with a new database, it automatically installs all USA regions and cities but the region and city ID's are totally different than in my old database. For example California region starts from 100XXX but in the old database they are 78xxxx - why is this?

I don't understand how this works. I thought those region/city ID's are same for all installations and are location based but may be they are not and generated based on the database rows or something? Are these ID's region/location specific or do they change on every installation or every time a new country is added.

Please clarify. Thanks!

Yes they are different.
You may remove them, reset auto increment on database tables and download legacy locations sql on docs page.

Ok, I thought they were some GEO location identifier or Location ID's or something useful for Mapping coordinates - they are just "random numbers" based on database rows and not specific to regions or cities?  Thanks!

ID is ID, aka identifier, primary key generated by database.
