Osclass 8.4.0 released!

Osclass 8.4 is out

This one is not a list of new features. After 15 years of running Osclass in production, we rebuilt the parts of the backoffice that were showing their age.

What changed

• 10 admin tables rebuilt on one structure: sorting, filters, pagination, row and bulk actions
• New listing statistics: daily stats per listing, a seller chart and period comparison for admins
• Reports replace the old "Mark as" links. Crawlers were hitting those links and filling the counters with junk. Now it is a form with reason, details, attachment and a thread between reporter, seller and admin
• Widgets with per-locale content, no plugin needed
• Alert expiration, currency exchange rates (entered manually) and batch image regeneration
• CustomDataTable.php, so plugins and themes can use the same table as core

Before you upgrade

• Back up files and database
• Test custom themes and plugins on staging
• PHP helpers stay backward compatible, but custom CSS built against the old admin table markup may look off
• Old Mark as counters in t_item_stats are dropped, not migrated

Just upgraded WIRLY to Osclass 8.4.0 today. 
WIRLY is quite heavily customized, with a modified Epsilon theme and a fair number of custom and modified plugins, so I was expecting at least a few compatibility issues after such a large backoffice update. 
So far: very smooth upgrade. 👍 
Error log is completely clean, cron jobs are running normally, statistics are recording correctly and the new alert statistics are working as expected. I also checked our custom structured data implementation after the upgrade and everything is running fine. 
The new statistics/backoffice changes are a very nice improvement compared with the previous version. It feels cleaner and much more useful. 
After running Osclass for several years and customizing almost every corner of it, it is nice to see the core still being actively modernized while keeping compatibility in mind. 
Great job on 8.4.0! 👏 
I’ll keep an eye on the logs over the next few days and report back if I find anything unusual.

I noticed a PHP warning in Osclass 8.4 while editing/saving an email template in the backoffice.

The following warning was logged 4 times during the same action:

```

Line 357 is inside `Page::deleteByPrimaryKey()`:

It looks like `findByPrimaryKey($id)` can return an empty array (or a row without `i_order`), while `deleteByPrimaryKey()` assumes that `i_order` is always present.

The warning appeared immediately after I edited/saved an email template in the backoffice. The template itself appears to have been saved correctly and I have not noticed any other problem.

So this does not seem critical, but it may be an edge case in the new 8.4 page/order handling or email-template cleanup.
