Upgrading from Osclass 3.9.0
« on: May 26, 2024, 01:22:28 AM »
I know, I'm running an old version.

My site needs newer PHP version and I need to update OClass because 3.9.0 won't run on PHP 8.0

How would I go about updating this?    I first copied new install files over existing and it wants to reinstall everything from scratch.

I then tried a new install on a new folder and importing a backup of my SQL file.   No joy.   Import crashes for an index or some such thing.

Advise???

You just extract ZIP into your root directory and then go to backoffice and complete uodate.
To get fast support, we need following details: Detail description, URL to reproduce problem, Screenshots

Oh I tried that.

Unzipping and running it says "Install NEW" as if there was no existing install.   If I install NEW it wipes all my databases for fresh new.

Upgrading PHP to v8 causes my old install to crash.    The whole reason for upgrading is I need PHP >8 and my old install crashes.  So I need to update OSClass.

No, "install new" will only occur when config.php does not exists - but that file does not exists in Osclass installation zip.
