I want to add some user/profiles from admin area and create an account for them - when I do this I want the system to send an email to the user telling them that their profile has been added to our website. Is this possible?  Thanks!

You could create profile, then deactivate it and simply re-send activation code.
Not sure if for profile created by admin is sent confirmation email about registration as well.
