Has anyone managed to log in with a gmail account so far?
I am using Google Workspace, and I cannot manage to authenticate.

Seeing some errors over there:

I can only sign-in when:
1. SMTP authentication enabled - IS UNCHECKED
2. When I leave the password blank, like there is a GLITCH

Otherwise there is no way to authenticate with Google.

In my Google Workspace I allowed the less secure connection of third-party applications, have checked with Google Support and everything is alright by their/our side.

They are saying that here is something wrong with the 3rd party / Osclass E-mail App (phpmailer).

My server configuration:

- Apache/2.4.6 (CentOS) OpenSSL/1.0.2k-fips PHP/8.1.16

- PHP 8.1.16 (cli) (built: Feb 14 2023 18:59:41) (NTS gcc x86_64)

- Server version: 10.10.3-MariaDB MariaDB Server

- phpMyAdmin Version information: 5.2.1-1.el7.remi (up to date)

They are saying that here is something wrong with the 3rd party / Osclass E-mail App (phpmailer).

Suppose rhey should have logs with details.
When you try to send mail, it use smtp server and return false response when not successful..
Maybe you have something in your logs as well.

Yes it does. Where are the logs generated so we can take a look to them?

Knowing here is a big issue of OSclass with the gmail Authentication, I do request technical support on this.

Osclass use PHP libraries for sending mails.

Logs should be on google side as well.
In osclass, logs from mailer are deferred.

We will try to add in next osclass version possibility to set log level for phpmailer.

Not issue with library. If yes you can open issue on github of phpmailer

Then if it’s true Why don’t you change it with another service? Why phpmailer it having issues…

It’s osclass integration… honestly…

SMTP work good while gmail authentication doesn’t.

Can you proof it work to you?

Phpmailer is best.

Then contact them, give them your theme credentials and ask them to authenticate. This is a major problem. Gmail Authentication do not work.


They need to fix asap. Is a big issue…

As I am using an external mailserver for this as Gmail do not work, I am waiting for a proof that Gmail authenticates and sends messages.

I really need this to work, and it doesn't. Need to test this on your hosted Osclass - the link that you provided me through the ticketing system.

Otherwise there is a fix that needs to be applied, as Gmail is the biggest and should work. Being your developed software, this must be your responsability to contact phpmailer if you know this is not working...

There is no rush at all you can take your time but a fix must be applied.

PLEASE TAKE THIS AS A SERIOUS MATTER.

Why should anyone put some proves here? Not getting it man. Why we should prove that 3rd party library works? Do it by yourself... Wake up.

Checked gmail without SMTP enabled. It behaves like "everything alright" but email never receive.
When enabled SMTP authentication and checked PHPmailer logs, it was clear it's not functional because setup was not correct. It require updates on gmail side.

It's reasonable considering gmail require 2-factor authentication, that it cannot work just with standard password only.
