translation
« on: June 21, 2023, 05:29:52 AM »
Hi Guys! Few points to discuss:

1) How do you back up a language? Or export it?

2) How and where you translate the Custom Fields from Listings? I decide to drop all attributes plugins and to create manually all fields. Because these plugins brings the most mess on a listing page. You have three times the phone number field and in generally you end up showing for a couple of times many other attributes which makes your site looks a joke. But there is no way to translate these custom fields. Or I do not find it. I just added one field and can't find it anywhere to translate it.

3) you should add a breadcrumb in settings, for example I am looking for a word in translation, for this clicking all way through International-Translation-choseLanguage-ChoseTheme(orWhatever)-Chose-chose-chose then if your word is not here you have to start over again with all these clicks. A clickable breadcrumb will save your time by clicking back where you want to re-start from and not always from very beginning.

This for now but I am very disappointed as I discover more and more childish things as more I go closer to lunch it in production. It will only be a recipe for disaster as it is

Hey,
1) you can copy language folder (of plugin, theme or core - oc-content). You can also go to Backoffice > Translations and hit export button.
2) Custom fields (values) cannot be translated.
To get fast support, we need following details: Detail description, URL to reproduce problem, Screenshots

2) Custom fields (values) cannot be translated.

But these values/names are visible in frontpage and anything visible should be able to be translated.

Please review all these attributes plugins and correct fields redundance. It comes up the same field (square-meters or phone-nr eg) for couple of times

Yes that is correct, custom fields does not hold translations.
You may look i.e. on https://osclasspoint.com/osclass-plugins/extra-fields-and-other/attributes-osclass-plugin-i77 that supports translations of values.
If you see some fields couple of times, you've created duplicates  :-\

I have that plug-in. Will have a look to see why there are fields redundancy. I am afraid some fields are coming from the core and then same field from plugin?

To come back to this topic, I disabled the extra plugins for Job/Dating/RealEstate attributes and trying to use only this attributes plugin and to create all fields from here. But it is not working. Beside is a pain in the ars to work with it(you have to change in between languages which is time consuming, should be an option to copy all values from one language to the others and then to edit), I cant figure out how you move these created values(fields) around. Tried to drag them, doesn't move. How you move them? Or how you add them as a sub-value to a main value? I can't move them

Drag & Drop, try on demo. If you will create hundreds of attributes, your browser may not like that...

What I may miss that in my case is not working? Does it use any special library which I may not have installed? So, I cannot drag this values arround

Check javascript errors in browser console.
Try to use jquery 3.x in general settings.

Actually, in my case, that was the issue, jquery 3.x, after switching back to v1 it works.

Anyway, please modify this plugin, so you can switch english<->otherlanguage for individual fields, not for all at once, cause it is really useless and time consuming in this form. By the time  you go back to your language you forgot already its name from english

Cheers
