Title: Work is being done on 8.0.3
Post by: MB Themes on June 29, 2022, 03:20:09 PM
You might wondering what is going on with development and when the next version will come.
Date was not set yet, but do not expect sooner than Q3 2022, but for features we can share 3 spoilers with you:
1) Full support for PHP 8.1 (besides that, minimum PHP version will move to 7.2)
2) Comment replies support
3) Translations from backoffice

Especially regarding point 3), most complains related to osclass are about translations (lack of technical skills to do it) and how to change some string somewhere, so 8.0.3 should fix this pain point of Osclass ;)  :-* 8)

Enjoy summer!

Your suggestion only provide text field for report.
That does not sound like game changer  :-X

Hi,

It would be great if you add a feature in the new osclass version where the uploaded image size is automatically reduced so that it doesn't take much space on the server. WebP is a good option but it is not supported by every browser. And I had also used a free image resize plugin but that doesn't work because after activating that plugin whenever we upload image it automatically reduces that image size but we can't post that listing as it gives an error which says please upload image even when we have uploaded images.

Thanks

I love the back end translation option; does this also mean that i can translate things/text that i adjusted and added my self in to the theme files?

You can also add new string, refresh PO from source code or even withdraw existing translations from one PO to another one.

In regards to point three, the strings from back office. Will it include strings for plugins too? The default strings have some grammar errors which is understandable but most plugins have decent grammar errors also which I had to fix so would be nice to be able to update the strings for plugins via back office too
Thanks!

We're all eagerly anticipating the next update but I'd rather @MB Themes take time and roll-out a quality upgrade than release a rushed one riddled with bugs.

Quality is everything.

the url of the user, like myweb.com/username, can be improved. this improvement is very important.

it will be easier for the users to promote their username, so the web will be known.

What if you set username to word "search"?
Title: Re: Work is being done on 8.0.3
Post by: mariogtz on December 26, 2022, 11:02:47 PM
I meant a custom url. it is a benefit to the user with a custom url.

That can be changed in the user's profile, or something like that.

many sites offer this benefit to users.

Can we expect a function to finally change the sequence of the uploaded images; a drag system?

I know there are two external plugins, however they both fail to work for me...

Few more details on this.
Osclass has very last regex that will identify domain.com/something as category page (because category pages does not have ids)

No, there is little complication with current library.
When you edit listing, you have 1 box for uploaded inages and one for new uploads.
If this would get somehow meged, it could be possible.

You could add the option to add both title, meta title, description and meta description for the pages. To add new ad, registration. Categories, subcategories...

Since at the moment it is complicated to modify the data and it is very important for search engines.

Because in the seo plugin is not available these options.

Thank you. I hope to see the new version this January. Regards.

No such features will not be added to Osclass core. Most of Seo plugins I ever seen manage all you mentioned.

My wish list:

- Better SEO throughout but especially for subdomain implementations
- Static language urls (ie. default: domain.com/, domain.com/ar/) so search engines can index other activated languages instead of just the default ie. / ... I believe a working multisite implementation can address this
- Separate meta data for subdomain homepages instead of default homepage meta data applying to all subdomains.domain.com/
- Full php 8.2 support
- Updated or alternate currently maintained JS dependencies in case respective versions are archived or dropped.
- RTL support, including css, for plugins

Keep up the great work!
