If I buy a plugin or theme from osclasspoint for my osclass website, do I get lifetime Updates for the Purchased Plugins or Themes? or I have to renew them at some point in time before getting updates?

It use to be lifetime, but from 2020 it is 12 month support.
Expired support does not limit usage of product.
When support expired, you can renew anytime for another 12 months for 35% of product base price.

I am not talking about product support. I am talking about downloading product updates when they are released. So for instance after the 12 months when the support expired, I will still be able to download updates and install myself without support.

Support includes products download as well.
If your support is expired, you have no more access to download product.

This logic isn't convenient at all. Imagine buying themes and plugins worth $400+ and I have to renew every year. Not to talk about the hosting, domain name and SSL renew. This makes running a classified website expensive as compared to those scripts on codecanyon which has limited support but lifetime update. You guys need to consider this approach because this is making osclass unpopular. A friend told me to forget osclass because of this issue but I decided to get confirmation from your team. I suggest you make support limited but updates lifetime. This is a piece of friendly advice.

You do not need to renew every year. You renew when you need or want update. You can renew after 5 years as well.
I suppose if you buy products for $400+, you prefer to have updates and active development for these products for at least 5+ years so you do not mind even pay for that update.
Alternative way is to pay $400+ and after 1 year realize author is gone, market is gone,... because of wrong business plan.

This helps also companies to predict their expense (no worries that in 1 year author will leave and you will pay another 400$ for same products from different person. History shown this may and will happen, if you do not have correct plan ).

On the other side, for authors it is not worth to even consider doing updates. What would be purpose of investing extra time? Existing customers will download it for free, new customers will get it automatically. Most of updates never bring higher sales, it does not work like that.

I understand if you say so and thank you for the detailed explanation. Now the last part of my question is that, if after the 1 year I decided not to renew because of budget constraint and after say 3 years I decided to renew to get the latest update. Will the new version work on the old script or do I have to perform updates from previous ones step by step and one after the other till I get to the recent one.?

The above you mentioned is totally incorrect. 

1. Where are my plugins that I bought before 2020?

2. You guys not offering me also 35% base price..

3. I think some of my plugins dissapeared and I have to pay full price again to buy updated plugins. ex. Your plugins worked with php 7 and now the one which working with php 8, I have to pay full price.

Products purchased before november 2020 has 4 years support pack included.
Products purchased on mb-themes has 4 years support as well (last order will retire in March of this year), but these does cannot be renewed, as they are from different system.
