When editing a listing, none of the previously selected/chosen attributes are preloaded in the edit form when category is set to autocomplete box. A similar thing also happens with the location, if set to autocomplete, the marker location from the map does not apply to the autocomplete box.

What function you use for autocomplete?

Super simple to replicate in your environment with dummy listings already present.

Just go into theme option and enable autocomplete for categories and locations. Now proceed to editing a current listing and you'll notice that none of the attributes previously selected/saved have loaded and instead everything is blank. Same thing can be seen with new listings, create --> publish and try to edit listing - attributes don't load and if you type in the category of the listing again, blank attributes load.

As for location - marker from map doesn't update the autocomplete field ... just address/street address. This doesn't happen with drop down select boxes.

Tested with Epsilon / Attributes plugin / 8.1.x

What attribute type is that? I do not recognize there is autocomplete attribute type.

I never said anything about an autocomplete attribute. Please reread what I shared with you. The categories and location autocomplete options under Epsilon.

An update would be appreciated as autocomplete fields are much more user-friendly than multi-dropdowns, especially with lots of categories and cities.

Tested on demo and could not reproduce.
I think it was fixed few weeks ago ...
