Hi

I've tried several times to translate some of the theme's text strings but when I do so via Poedit and upload both the theme.po and theme.mo into the language folder it does not update the site.

I'm using a child theme and wonder if this has anything to do with it?

There can be 2 idsues
- you translate po and mo files from bender theme
- new files are on incorrect lovation
