I have uploaded category icons small and large, exact suggested size, the icons are uploaded and i see them in the folder but they don't show up next to category links

Category icons are shown just on some places, not everywhere.
You also need to set to use icons instead of font awesome in theme settings.

I missed the check part, sorry for your time.
