I'm heartbroken, I have no idea how to fix it

I have no way to load profile pictures on Zara Theme.

in files user-public-profile.php and item.php i have code:
<?php if(function_exists('profile_picture_show')) { profile_picture_show(200); } ?>
but but nothing displays and I don't have options to upload prifile pictures.

Someone can help me?

When profile picture plugin is installed, there is no need to change code.
New profile image can be uploaded from user menu clicking on current image.
