Clicking on a new category from page 2 onwards
« on: October 20, 2024, 03:55:19 AM »
Hi,

When clicking on a new category when browsing from page 2 onwards. If I am at: https://zeta.mb-themes.com/search/iPage,2 if I click on the Services category it should take me to: https://zeta.mb-themes.com/services but it takes me to: https://zeta.mb-themes.com/services/2 .

Can this be changed to take the user to page 1 of the chosen category?

Many thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

It is the same for all sections.

If for example I go to the For sale category page 3 at:  https://zeta.mb-themes.com/for-sale/3  and then click on the category selector at the top of the page for Computer Hardware it should take me to https://zeta.mb-themes.com/for-sale/computers-hardware but it takes me to page 3 of Computer Hardware https://zeta.mb-themes.com/for-sale/computers-hardware/3

Many thanks

Yes, a minor oversight. This seems confusing to Google but also to the user and that's why it doesn't indexing correctly or find an error because of this.

Which file should be modified ?

Hi,

Could you please share the update code here as Google's search bot is crawling thousands of empty pages as it is following the links from previous pages.

Many thanks

Dont have it.
These pages should be nofollow anyway.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

The links that contain no listings do not have a "nofollow" tag so they are followed by the search engines bot.

I've included a screenshot from https://zeta.mb-themes.com/for-sale/5 and the source code for the category links that have no listings.

Many thanks

Page meta tags should be noindex nofollow as these has more-less duplicated content.
