How to make Alpha best theme ever ;-)
« on: February 13, 2019, 10:08:27 PM »
Here is (my) changes wish-list about how to make Alpha the best theme so far:

- Make right collumn (customer details) and left collumn (search form) sticky (stays on screen when scrolling down), its so handy (Zara, Veronica and OLX :-) of course does it) and I love it
- Changing those orange navigation arrows on the photos to something more delicate/less disturbing/less covering the photo (especially on mobile screen those arrows should be located on the edges of the foto rather than center).
- The main photo should be edge to edge of the screen on mobile devices (without any white left/right borders, wasting of pixels :)
- The content should be on mobile devices (same as above) edge to edge with small marigin but without any additional gray space as its now.
- Showing "PRIVATE SALE' badge if no "Professional Seller" badge has been set.
- Small person/email/phone icons added to Contact Seller form (same as is on Veronika when contact form called from user dashboard).
- On all screen sizes (desktop/tablet/mobile) contact form should appear as a part of main content (same as on Veronika), not on a pop-up/modal window!!! (I hate it... so unhandy and limited size).
- Upload file option added to contact seller form.
- Captcha div on contact seller form needs css correction (size)
- System messages should be displayed closer to the top/middle of the screen, not on very bottom
- The '+' button for adding a new listing should have its title/description showing on mouse hover (its a bit secret what the button does until you click it)
- When you search using left search form and choose any category from the drop down list, Ajax prefiltered search results does NOT showing photo thumbnails (print screen attached) until you reload/F5 the site

If you could consider any of my suggestions that would be just great.

I wanted to purchase Veronika or Stella theme. Now Alpha came into the game. I might order Alpha but still waiting for some improvements :-)

@MB Themes - thanks!
Several you says :-), I spoted two, main photo is edge to edge on mobile (looks so much better now) and all the photos are showing up on Ajax search.
Or did I not notice something else??

The best improvement to the theme would be making left/right column sticky. Hope you decide about this one.

The Captcha on contact form needs small fix.

@gnoe - thanks

We have different server for development.
What you see with recaptcha is actually fix, otherwise it use to overflow and break design. It is not rrsponsive.

My another suggestion about Alpha

The small arrow icon next to Location field should be active (same as for Category field).
Most users (including myself) would open the drop-down list by using icon first rather than clicking onto the form itself.

Small improvement but more user-friendly.

On Alpha settings there is category icon setup. The right collumn on there is for colour changing. How does it work and what colours are change??
I have Category Icons Type switch set to off (to use my custom small icons) and whatever colours I change it doesnt have any effect on the page/this category.

Thanks

@piter
Theme does not use category colors until font-awesome icons are used. This functionality is same for all our themes and usually is preserved here for customization from end-users, if they need more features with category colors.

And another idea to the list :-)

One of OSclass issues is lack of proper designed maintanance page. This page is just simple, non-informational to users and ugly :-).
Alpha contain nicely designed 404 page. It could be nice to add maintanance.php page with the design matching the rest of the theme.
