Trouble with access to republish.php
« on: March 02, 2016, 08:34:04 PM »
Hi guys,
Has anyone had an issues with accessibility to republish.php? I am currently unable to republish ads as it always return main page.. I have been told that root of this issue is not on the plugin but it's on hosting side. I have sent a message to my hosting provider, but by the waiting for their reply I am gonna try to use this forum as some of other users of Back-office manager plugin could possibly experience same issues and got it solved.

My personal guess is that it's gonna have something to do with .htacces files, but I did't get it solved by now.

I will be thankful for any suggestions.

Cheerz

Changing permissions was a first thing I tried to do, but with no success. I can't really imagine what else can block that file apart of .htaccess file. I have had modified .htaccess file so I tried to load default file, but again no success. I'm really curious what hosting provider will come with.. I presume they won't find any issue and will say that servers are running fine so I will have to trace the problem on my own.   :-\

I saw that "@Gabriel Popa" had the same issue but threads were closed so no solution can be find there. I checked his website and BO plugin seems to be working fine there by now... but god knows how he sorted this issue...

@Peter123
Simply contact your hosting provider that you cannot access file XY on your hosting.
Please note that answer "There is programming error" is the cheapest one. In such case replace content of this file with text "Hello world" and programming error is not possible.

Well, so I got an answer from hosting provider.
First of all they are saying that I have quite many .htaccess files containing "deny from all", but I can see only one .htaccess file and that one is not containing such a command so will have to ask them where the hell are those other files hidden. (yes, I know they are normally not visible)

Second, they are asking me to provide more info about the script, how the script works, how and where it was executed from so they can investigate this further..

Hope we will get this sorted soon :'(

By the way,
During the last night I suddenly received emails

Quote
Hi Admin!

Listing: (#) was republished today by and will expire in 31 day(s).

You can find this listing on URL:

Regards,
test-portal

But listing # was not filled, and listing URL as well..
This mornng I checked expired items and one of them is live again and looks like it was  succesfully republished.. WTF? how?  :o Republish is still not working and still redirecting to the main page.

Well, from browser? You type link to file into your browser.
Does not matter how script works, you only want to access that file, nothing more, nothing less.

To your second problem, don't you have some ghost ads?
(expired listings with no title, description, ...)

It looks like hosting provider support did something and unlocked it somehow, but just for a while.
I sent them a link where they can check if file republish.php is accessible and it contained the # of the item which has been successfully republished. It was republished just 7 minutes before they answered my email. So I presume they were trying to do something, but didn't even realize they did it, and than returned any changes back to default so issue is still ongoing.

augh.....  :-\
