Membership questions
« on: March 04, 2026, 07:40:19 PM »
Hello guys,
1. Can someone explain what does it mean when you create a ground and let's say set 10 listings in 30 days. Does it mean users can post 10 new listings in 30 days or does it count already active listings?
2. What difference is between the above settings and Pay Per Publish Free Limit setting? What if I set here also 10 listings.

I'm not really sure how this works.
Thanks!

Here is how the limits work:

“10 listings in 30 days” (Group limit)
This setting limits how many new listings a user can publish within a rolling 30-day period.

It counts newly published listings during the last 30 days — not how many listings are currently active.

Example:
If the limit is 10, the user can publish 10 new listings within 30 days.
Even if some of those listings are later deleted or expired, they still count toward the limit until the 30-day window passes.

It does not mean the user can have only 10 active listings at the same time. It strictly controls publishing frequency.

“Pay Per Publish – Free Limit”

This setting defines how many listings a user can publish for free before payment is required.

Example:
If the Free Limit is 10, the first 10 listings are free.
Starting from the 11th listing, the user must pay (according to the Pay Per Publish fee settings).

How they work together

They control two different things:

• Group limit → how many listings can be published in a time period (rate limit)
• Free limit → how many listings are free before payment is required (monetization limit)

If both are set to 10:

• The user can publish max 10 listings in 30 days.
• All 10 would be free.
• The 11th listing cannot be published within those 30 days (even if the user is willing to pay), because the group limit blocks publishing.

In short:

Group limit = publishing restriction
Free limit = payment threshold

Awesome answer, that clears things a little.

May I suggest you also implement free limit based on user type(business, personal, active business profile, etc)

May I suggest you also implement free limit based on user type(business, personal, active business profile, etc)
For example I want to be able to set:
1. Personal users have 1 free lifetime listing and all other listings need to be paid.
2. Business users purchase membership with 50 listings in 30 days and over that limit of 50 listings they need to pay for each additional listing or need to upgrade membership. Is this even an option right now? If not I think it should be rethinked a little to separate personal from business users si it will be more flexible.

I would also suggest you implement a feature where users can buy “listings packs” where if 1 listing costs 10€, a pack of 5 will cost 40€. Of course with the ability to set the discounted price and also user type based.

In order to achieve the desired effect without much modifications I think it would be best to add a setting for each group to make it visible on frontend or not. If not it should not be shown on frontend(use case: we create Default group, and add all new users to this group, should not be shown on frontend)

If a certain group is set as only for business users for example it should only be shown to those users on frontend, not to all users. It makes no sense to show a personal user what benefits business users have and they are not able to purchase it. Might lead to not purchasing at all because they might feel ripped off.

Problem - there are tens of variations like your request, it cannot be handled by one plugin. Too much  :o

I totally agree, that’s why would should try to make it a little more flexible with more settings and maybe some new features. You already implemented some of my suggestions and I think there is still room for improvement.

And most IMPORTANT: please add option to groups to be able to set if user can choose auto-renew subscription. This way when subscription ends it auto renews automatically so listings stay live non stop.

I am convinced this should be applied to most of the payment plugins and some might not even have this option but at least for main ones at first would be fine. (Paypal, Stripe, etc)
