Custom fields in V8.01

Since V8.01 custom fields select box shows text "select extra' as in attachement. Before it was empty or like ---
How can i change this like it was before v.8 please?

I understand thanks.... Can you tell me where i can translate the word 'select' to selecteer in Dutch please? Is this in languages/core file?

It should be in core translations, it should be there even before update, for some reason it was not shown on particular pages
