Homepage Icons - Showing number of items under a category

Hello,

On the homepage is it possible under the icon name to show the number of icons under a category e.g Vehicles (15) / Construction Equipment (20). Kindly see screenshot below

I added this code to my site to show the category count. my site is new, not many items posted.

   <?php echo osc_category_total_items(); ?>

It could be inc.category.php located in theme folder.
