For the sake of example and to demonstrate what I would like to achieve, let's imagine the following, although the actual data is NOT about cars:
-I have a community driven database website of detailed info about car manufacturers and car models, starting slow but getting new entries daily
-the website is on the same server as Osclass, stores data in SQL database and is also fully crawlable by search engines
-I'd like to set up a car marketplace using Osclass, on another domain
-I'd like to link from my website data entries to the related listings on the marketplace
-I'd like to make adding listings easier for users by having manufacturer+model information selectable from existing options (also makes listings more consistent in a way)
-therefore I'm looking to automatically syncing several fields from my database website to Osclass
I could be having the required ID for connecting the items across the two sites bundled with the model like this:
Manufacturer: "Opel"
Model: "Astra (id-12345)"
However, getting all the manufacturers and models to sync would be most important, I might come up with something better for those ID's.
Ideal setup would have the ID in yet another attribute, but populated accordingly when the user selects the corresponding car model. I don't know if Osclass can provide this type of "linked select" of two attributes, for the lack of better word. I've still not decided what platform to use for the marketplace yet.
The SQL part probably is not that hard since I'm quite familiar with that, but my question is, is it possible somehow to automate an import like this one and not use only the Import SQL Data tool manually..?
Thanks in advance.
