Ddisplaying categories

How can I display categories on three columns first page?
I tried with style to add no. 3 and change to main.php but web not display the third column.
Can you help me please.

Check main.css (to generate 3 columns instead of 2) and style.css to adjust styles.

I succeeded to introducing column 3.
Can you help me with the other question please. some ideas
